Christmas day is a time for celebration, the celebration of our Savior’s birth! John 1 has been the theme in our house during this weekend of celebration.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life,[a] and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
In our house, we teach our children to focus on the birth of Christ. We do exchange presents within our family to the children, our siblings, grandparents and loved ones. We don’t not let our children believe in Santa Claus, and instead focus on Christ’s birth and the gifts that come from individuals that love them. Today was an extra special Christmas, as we chose to give up pizza as a family for Gospel and Gaming’s advent challenge. Alethea was just as excited to have pizza as she was to open some gifts. We are so thankful for our family and friends and the time we are able to spend with them celebrating the birth of our Savior. Below are some pictures throughout our Christmas celebrations yesterday.
Our Christmas celebration started with Christmas Eve dinner and gifts with my sisters and parents. The children got some new Pj’s from their great grandmother and couldn’t wait to wear them.
The kids woke up early enough to check out their stockings before church, which included lots of yummy goodies.
We then set off to Lake St. Charles to worship and celebrate with our gaming friends at the retirement center.
Next was Midtown church to worship with some of our brother and sister gamers there.
Finally, we made it home for a quite lunch and rest time before digging into our gifts. We were blessed this year to receive some great new games! Jacob got Yu-Gi-Oh Dice Masters, while the kids received Domino's, Tall Tale, Wacky Sentences and many puzzles. I can’t wait to break into these games and share some reviews your way!
